Our luxury cabins near Helmsley are open all year round, so whether you fancy a summer escape, an autumn weekend surrounded by changing colours, a cosy winter break or a few days in the countryside come spring, there’s never really a bad time to visit. We get lots of questions from guests before they book, usually about the practical things that can make a stay that little bit easier. So we thought we’d answer five of the questions we’re asked most often about our cabins at Helmsley Meadows.
1. Do you accept dogs?
Yes! We have two dog-friendly cabins, Campion and The Coppice and one well-behaved dog is welcome to stay.
Each dog-friendly cabin has an enclosed decking area, which means your dog can enjoy being outside with you while you relax in the hot tub, without you having to worry about them wandering off.
We know that for many people, a break isn't quite the same if you have to leave your dog at home. Being able to bring them along means you can enjoy the walks, the fresh air and the North Yorkshire countryside together.
There are plenty of dog-friendly walks around Helmsley and the surrounding North York Moors too, so you can make your cabin stay as much about exploring as it is about relaxing.
2. Is there heating in the cabins?
Yes – and it’s one of those things you’ll really appreciate on a chilly morning.
All of our cabins have underfloor heating throughout, so there are no cold corners or having to huddle around one little radiator.
The temperature can be manually adjusted, so you can set the cabin to exactly how warm you like it.
It also makes the cabins perfect for year-round stays. There’s something rather lovely about coming back from a muddy autumn walk or a crisp winter day and stepping onto warm floors.
3. Is there parking at the cabins?
Yes. We have a private car park with space for six cars, located just a short walk from the cabins.
Because the cabins are designed to feel tucked away in nature, the parking isn't directly outside each cabin. But a short walk away.
We have handcarts available for guests, making it much easier to transport your luggage from the car park to your cabin.
4. Are the cabins near shops?
Yes – you're close enough to Helmsley to walk into town, but far enough away to feel like you've escaped.
The centre of Helmsley is around a 35-minute walk from Helmsley Meadows, where you'll find independent shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and plenty to explore.
If you don't fancy walking into town, there’s a farm shop just around 10 minutes away, which is particularly handy for picking up local produce, breakfast bits or something delicious for your cabin.
So while the cabins feel tucked away in the countryside, you're never too far from the things you might need during your stay.
5. Do you supply wood for the hot tub and firepit?
Yes, we do.
We supply enough wood and firelighters for both the wood-fired hot tub and fire pit for a two-night stay, so you don't need to arrive with a boot full of logs.
If you're staying longer, additional wood can be arranged – just ask us.
A year round escape near Helmsley
One of the things we love most about Helmsley Meadows is that every season feels different.
In summer, you can spend long evenings outside. Autumn brings changing colours and crisp countryside walks. Winter is all about warm floors, steaming hot tubs and dark skies, while Spring brings the wildflowers and the countryside back to life.
