We are beyond excited to introduce the newly refurbished Crossing Cottage! After months of careful planning and thoughtful updates, we’ve transformed this beautiful space into the perfect holiday retreat. Whether you're looking for a relaxing escape, or a romantic getaway, our new holiday home is ready to welcome you with open arms. 

 

Crossing Cottage used to be a 19th century railway crossing gatehouse on the original Gilling to Pickering trainline in North Yorkshire known as Pockley Gates. From the moment you step through the door, you’ll notice the fresh, modern touches we've added while preserving the charm that made this place special in the first place. Here’s a little sneak peek of what’s waiting for you: 

 

• Stylish Interiors: We’ve carefully curated the interiors to blend comfort with contemporary style. Expect cosy furnishings, soft textiles, and tasteful decor throughout. The sitting room now has a large bay window seat. It was from this window that the crossing keeper would keep an eye out for trains coming down the track. The old wooden shutters remain which were used in World War two as blackouts. 

 

• Modern Amenities: Our new kitchen is fully equipped with all the latest appliances, making meal preparation a breeze. Don’t worry, as we have also ensured high-speed Wi-Fi (through our satellite internet) and a smart TV in the sitting room, so you can stay connected and entertained. 

• Outdoor Spaces: Our garden has been revamped for you to enjoy, with a wood fired hot tub and a patio area perfect for morning coffees or afternoon lounging. 

 

• Comfortable Bedrooms: The bedrooms contain luxurious softness and hotel level comfort mixed in with pretty, vintage, cottage vibes. Both rooms have bespoke statement headboards. They have a calming colour palette to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep after a day of exploring.
