A new chapter for Helmsley Meadows
Helmsley Meadows has always been about slowing down, reconnecting with nature and letting the land lead. As our little corner of North Yorkshire grows, we felt it was time for our visual identity to grow with it too.
While we loved our original cottage logo, it no longer fully reflected what Helmsley Meadows is becoming. With the addition of our cabins this Spring, we wanted a logo that felt rooted in the wider landscape — not just a single building, but the land, wildlife and sense of place that surrounds it.
Rooted in the land
Our new logo is inspired directly by the meadows themselves.
At its heart is the oak tree that stands in the middle of the field. It self-seeded over 20 years ago and was carefully nurtured by the previous owners. Quietly and patiently, it has grown into what it is today — a symbol of continuity and gentle growth. In many ways, it mirrors our own journey here at Helmsley Meadows.
Inspired by the wildlife around us
The second element of our logo features the house martins who return to Helmsley Meadows each summer. Travelling all the way from Africa, they arrive in abundance and fill the skies during the warmer months.
Their presence feels like a gift each year and a reminder that this landscape is part of something much bigger. Including them in our logo felt like a natural way to honour the wildlife that shares this space with us.
Growing gently, staying true
This new logo represents who we are now — and where we’re heading — while staying true to the values that have always guided Helmsley Meadows: nature-led living, thoughtful design and a deep respect for the land.
As we move into this next chapter, our story continues to unfold slowly and intentionally. The heart of Helmsley Meadows remains the same — just expressed in a way that feels more aligned with the landscape we’re so lucky to call home.
Looking ahead
As Helmsley Meadows continues to evolve, we look forward to welcoming guests not only to our cottage, but soon to our cabins too. Designed with the same care and respect for the landscape, they will offer new ways to slow down and experience this place.
Our journey is still unfolding, and we’re enjoying letting it take shape naturally — season by season, story by story.
