But if you’ve never used one before, it’s completely normal to have a few questions.
We’re asked the same things time and time again, so we’ve pulled together this simple guide to our wood-fired hot tub — everything you need to know before you arrive, so you can switch off straight away.
Do you provide wood for the hot tub?
Yes — absolutely.
All firewood, firelighters and pine cones for kindling are included as part of your stay, so there’s no need to bring anything with you. We even provide the bathrobes too!
We make sure everything is ready for you, so you can focus on settling in and enjoying the slower pace of life here in the North Yorkshire countryside. We even provide the bathrobes too!
How long does it take to heat up a wood-fired hot tub?
On average, it takes around 2–3 hours for the hot tub to reach the perfect soaking temperature.
The exact time can vary slightly depending on the weather, but many guests enjoy lighting it mid-afternoon so it’s ready for an evening soak — often under the stars, with nothing but birdsong (mainly pheasants and tawny owls) and crackling wood for company.
How do I light the hot tub?
It’s much easier than it looks. You’ll find clear, step-by-step instructions in your welcome folder, designed to make the process simple and stress-free. And if you’re ever unsure, we’re always nearby to help.
Can I get extra wood if needed?
Yes — just let us know. If you’d like extra wood during your stay, we’re happy to provide it.
Can you light the hot tub for me?
Yes — and this is one of our favourite touches.
We offer a hot tub butler service, which means we can light and prepare the hot tub for you. It’s ideal if you’d rather arrive, unpack, pour a drink and relax while everything is taken care of.
Because your break here isn’t about learning instructions or keeping track of time — it’s about slowing down and letting someone else handle the details.
