Overview
Crossing Cottage is the perfect retreat for country lovers and romantics seeking a private escape away from it all. It has a charming interior that mixes contemporary and heritage to create an enchanting and inviting home from home.
The 3D virtual tour below will give you an insight into the space inside the cottage. The cottage was once home to The Crossing Keeper and her family of 5 children! We have completely refurbished the cottage but have kept some original features.
Private Garden
The accommodation benefits from a private garden with views of the surrounding countryside and has it’s very own wood fired hot tub for a relaxing experience.
If you are lucky you might get a visit from the local barn owls, house martins, hares or pheasants.
Downstairs
You’ll be spoilt with a fully equipped bespoke handmade kitchen with all the mod-cons. Snuggle up in the cosy sitting room with a comfy sofa to watch your favourite movies or curl up on large window seat to read and enjoy the garden.
The bay window was originally used to see when the trains were coming down the track. There is also a downstairs boot room with a charging station and space to put coats, dog beds etc.
Upstairs
Upstairs you will find the two bedrooms, a large wardrobe cupboard on the landing and the bathroom. Bedroom 1 with its king sized bed still has the original fireplace which is now an ornamental feature and has breathtaking views out onto the rolling countryside. Bedroom 2 has a king sized bed and views up the hill towards the remains of a Roman settlement. The bedrooms are not able to accommodate a travel cot.
Location
Crossing Cottage has access to the 6 acres which forms Helmsley Meadows. Take a 1.5 mile stroll along the disused railway and you will find yourself in the centre of Helmsley.
Alternatively, the farm shop with its bistro is a 5 minute walk away or if you fancy something more gastronomic the Michelin starred Star Inn at Harome is less than 1.5 miles away.
Optional Extras
Butler Service
Enjoy our butler service and have your wood fired hot tub heated and waiting for you when you arrive.
